Homebound.

I’m finally back from Singapore and had an incredible sent off by the most brilliant of friends and my brother, Justin. I had lots of time to reflect and reminisce about my trip while on the plane. This trip has been a different one. I’ve forged so many new friendships and re-affirmed many. If you are reading this ruth, you will and always be my best friend and you know that you’ll always have me despite the distance. The 10 hour flight from Singapore to NZ might seem like a really long one but time and distance have not proven to have strained our friendship one bit! And that tells a lot! Love you lots and will be missing you while I’m here. Stay strong and you always know who to call .:) Sherman and Roy. who knew that our friendship would’ve blossomed during this trip despite our brief encounter during your stay in Christchurch last year. I was dressed up all geeky for that party and you guys were all decked out in flannel.Haha. You two are such fine examples of how men should be. Confident, passionate, ambitious, outgoing, deep, intelligent and you know the list would go on. It was fun times hanging out prawning, going to the zoo and the night safari, makan-ing all over Singapore, meeting all your monash buddies, sentosa etc. I will miss you two soo much now that we can’t hang out as regularly as we did. I wouldn’t And to Cai Ling, I would miss you and your distinctive Cai humour and cute-ness! Had fun with you during my time here and its a real shame we couldn’t hang out a lot more
. Remember the merlion man and katong laksa? And not forgetting JJ! Ha!
And to my family back in Singapore,it was great seeing how much all of you have grown up and changed. I wouldn’t blame you for scrutinizing our family and commenting on how much we’ve changed either because we went overseas. However, some of my beloved cousins might have pushed the line a wee bit too far this time. I know you are young and still learning. But, the things that I’ve heard that have been going on behind our backs was very disappointing. I am also hurt in the way some of you have been treating me. You know that I am your friend but there still have to been some form of respect between our big age-gap. I know that this trip has been centered around friends and that I regretted not spending my weekends with you. Missing someone or loving them to add , does not need to be articulated. Don’t feel left out or angry just because I did not express it. Despite all this, I would still call my trip back to Singapore a success. I will miss it dearly and I can’t wait to plan my next trip back. Will continue to love all of you dearly, both family and friends. Lots of love , all the way from the land of the long white cloud, Chrislynn.
Singapore Ahoy!

I’m now back in Singapore. Hanging out with the bestest bestie Ruth and catching up with family and friends.
The food here is simply divine! Been purging on all the local delights that I love so much. Utter bliss. Singapore is truly a shopping utopia, a fashion Macca for the budget conscious. The weather here is not as impressive though. With humidity levels sky rocketing high and barely bearable temperatures reaching 34 degrees. I’m acclimatizing though, and assimilating into the Singapore way of life. Jandals and shorts all the way!
Summer Bummer.
Grace and I went to the beach last week. It was a hot day don’t get me wrong. 24 degrees is considered pretty darn hot in these parts. But, the poor sun was hidden by the clouds. So much for tanning, but we had a great time nonetheless. We waded through the ice cold waters to a dry patch of sand smacked in the middle and stood in between where the waves met. Talking about the beach, I really need to get my own sun block. hah.
Fireflies.
Yesterday was an interesting day a day where I was told to note in my diary or bible and remember for years to come. It was strange at the beginning but I felt that God had put me in that situation for an awakening of some sort. I met up with Shing and Ying for lunch at Mitchells for a catch-up, when we were just about to leave, Pastor Leo,grandson Jeevan and Andy Kubala walked in. Kimberley was with us at that point, she knew them better than I did, exchanged greetings and so on. Kimberley left and Shing and Ying left for the toilet. I would describe the following moment as the most awkward situation I’ve ever been in. Pastor Leo and Pastor Andy came by my table sat with me because there weren’t any seats left in the cafe. As I’ve said, I hardly knew them apart from listening to them in church, let alone held a proper conversation with them in real life. I wasn’t from Majestic church, well, used to and that made the situation all the more awkward. Pastor A was a healing evangelist , originally from New Zealand but now based in Australia. He’s a jolly fellow, listened to him when he came around to NZ to preach, at the Getsmart conference and so on. He was having a small event at Majestic later on that afternoon and Shing and Ying were planning on going. To be frank, I had totally forgotten about it but felt compelled to attend the event and told him that I would be there, which he replied in a jolly way ” Yep! We’ll see you at the front row!”. We talked for a bit, that usual awkward “Lets talk about the weather” sort of conversations which I later quickly left because, the awkwardness was strangling me.
I relayed my experience with Shing and Ying right after and we joked about how he might call me out for a prophecy and so on. Funny how that actually happened during Pastor A’s event. He called a row of us out and he prophesied over my life saying that he saw a hundred souls saved and that 10 years from now, I would look back at today and laugh. He also said that he saw bible college. He also said he would see my family saved although my parents were already Christians. I mean this sort of thing, to non-Christians , might sound bogus or some religious riff-raff but what happened , what I felt, was real. Prophecy aside, God is real and there must be a reason why so many of us are Christians. Not because we are “brain-washed” as some critics claim but this “God” that we are worshipping is real. I mean, if you knew something so great and amazing, would you be compelled to share it with the people you care about or to anyone who haven’t heard it? Speaking hypothetically, if you possessed something that was tangible and you had all the reasons to give it away without any loss, would you do it? I believe that the way some people approach the sharing of this amazing news in the wrong way. People, in general, do not respond to intimidation. If you have read up till this point, or have bothered to read this for that matter, I’m telling you not to be intimidated. Trust me, I wouldn’t risk being a fool supporting something or believing in something that is total bull-shit. I wouldn’t claim , either, to be that perfect Christian. I’m just a normal person, just like you, who happened to be in the position of possessing and knowing something so real and wonderful that I’m compelled to let you know this.
Hold me by the arm and sway me like the sea.
White ethereal Witchery dress. Wayfarers, red hot lips, smashing stilettos. Perfect.
I vow to keep this blog alive from this day forward.
I promise to update you with something original each day about my summer holidays.
So, lookout for daily updates! xoxo.

Came out of hibernation yesterday. Four days worth of getting cooped up at home was more than what this little body can take. Though, I would say staying at home once in a while is indeed refreshing after a very long holiday. Started off the day with a little picnic by the Groynes and we saw a one legged duck! -which I may add seemed to understood that we favored him over his two-legged companions. The picnic ended abruptly because of the rain and we made our way back to Tabs place for some blogsurfin’ and later, an amazing meal at Joyful. I swear that place has got to be one of the best Chinese restaurants in Christchurch. We then headed off to try out a Korean bar in downtown Christchurch called Doll+i for some yoghurt Soju. The little bar was situated snugly in Poplar Lane-which is distinctively indie and certainly less commercialized than its sister SOL square. We were led up to the attic level of the Bar and we had amazing views of Poplar Lane. I was so thankful that I decided to bring my trusty camera along with me. Scattered around Poplar Lane would be little NYC-like lofts that people can rent. Just right across from where we were sitting were a group of guys that looked like they jumped right out an alternative Indie band cover who were enjoying the evening on their Balcony. Hot! We had a great time that night basking in the atmosphere that we were surrounded in and we all had a great time chatting the night away about our recent Summer escapades.
